By the release
of new update on 23/11/2013, all most all the software issues have been solved
by CEPT Mysore. But still the support from CEPT for specific errors happened
earlier is lagging. This may be due to large volume of mail from various parts
of the country.
The number
of personnel in support team in CEPT should be increased at least when a new
service or a new software is released. CEPT is the only institution under
Government of India that gives software support for large number of people
across the country. Now all the Post Offices and Mail Offices are more
dependent on CEPT so each and every email or solution received from CEPT is
very valuable for the entire official in India Post. For the last few months,
the support from CEPT is lagging due to some unknown reasons. In the new
environment quick software support is necessary otherwise days’ work cannot be
completed since all the works and modules are connected each other. From the
introduction of COD service we can understand that the small defect in software
or small gap in software support may lead to a big shake in the implementation
process. The issues may be solved in near future but the customers or business
house who had suffered in the implementation process will not come back to
India Post. Postal Directorate has taken initiative to conduct a Video
Conference with CEPT and various Circles in connection with COD Services and
its implementation. But this VC could have been conducted before its
introduction. After the release of new solution on 23/12/2013, there is no
importance for the conversation with CEPT. Above all the COD service of India
Post will achieve good market share in COD markets in India. Follow up is as
very important as implementation.
